Ways to Give

There are many options when it comes to making a gift to VASJ, including but not limited to those listed below. 

Cash
Cash gifts can be made one time only or pledged over a period of time. Checks should be made payable to Villa Angela-St. Joseph High. Credit card payments can be processed online at vasj.com/donate or through mailing in a contribution form. Charitable cash gifts, not exceeding 50% of adjusted gross income, are tax-deductible in the year given.

Pledges
Pledges can be made over a three- to five-year period. Gifts are tax-deductible in the year payment is made.

Dream Makers Society (recurring gifts)
Be a VASJ Dream Maker — make a big impact with your recurring gift. They add up quickly! Your monthly, quarterly or annual recurring gift will make a significant impact on the lives of current and future students at Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School.

Donor-Advised or Endowed Funds
Donors can set up a fund with a foundation that will send gifts to VASJ, on a routine schedule, to support their annual giving or area of interest.

IRA Charitable Qualified Distributions
If you are aged 70½ or older, you have the opportunity to save on taxes and make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA up to $100,000 annually, tax-free.  With this direct transfer from your traditional IRA to Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School, you satisfy your minimum required distribution for the year. 
 
The IRA assets go directly to VASJ, so donors don't report QCDs as taxable income and don't owe any taxes on the QCD, even if they do not itemize deductions. Some donors may also find that QCDs provide greater tax savings than cash donations for which charitable tax deductions are claimed.  

Matching Gifts
Many employers offer matching gift programs to their employees. If your company has a matching gift program, please consider taking advantage of it as it can leverage your gift to a higher level.

Stock Gifts/Securities

Real Estate
Real property gifts are accepted pending the approval of the VASJ Board of Advisors and the Clelveland Diocese’s legal counsel. Memorial Gifts
Gifts are accepted in honor of a cherished family member, friend or faculty member.

Planned Gifts
Planned giving is a way to leave a lasting legacy to a place that is important to you and can benefit VASJ. Gifts can range from bequests, life insurance policies and retirement plans to charitable gift annuities. Establishing a planned giving program is a priority for VASJ. Gifts-In-Kind
There is a wish list of items that can be of use in various ways to the VASJ community for a classroom, sports team, extracurricular program, special event, etc. If you have something you wish to provide, please contact the Advancement Office at 216-481-8414 ext. 259 to explore the school's possible utilization of your gift-in-kind donation.

Volunteer
There are many opportunities and areas at VASJ for you to invest your time and expertise, including but not limited to alumni relations, parent organizations, athletics, fundraising activities and special events.
