It was roller coaster day in Mrs. Eckert’s Physics class! VASJ students were tasked with researching, designing and building a roller coaster from scratch. Each roller coaster had to have at least two hills and one loop and be free-standing.
As part of the project, students had to perform a series of calculations, including the height of hills, loops and drops, the potential and kinetic energy at various points, and the velocity and acceleration. To test that the roller coaster design was feasible, two marbles of varying weights had to successfully travel the entire track.
We are so impressed with our students' creativity!
