Today marked the last official day for VASJ seniors in MEP (Marianist Excel Program). Led by Coach Tony Redding '89, the MEP program provides financial, academic and social support to high-potential students from urban Marianist elementary schools.
To cap off the 2024-25 school year, Coach Redding completed this year's theme "What's Next?" by speaking directly to his seniors, asking them to follow the words from Matthew 28: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
The seniors each shared their thoughts on their four years in the MEP program and how much Coach Redding's mentorship has meant to them. They also gave some words of wisdom to the underclassmen at VASJ: The four years of high school go by quickly — make the most of each and every day and cherish the time you have together.
Each senior also received a special gift from the MEP program — a blanket to always remember their time at VASJ and their Viking family.
