2015-16 Application Packet

VASJ Application Process

If you are an 8th grade student at Catholic Grade School:

  1. All 8th grade students are required to take the VASJ entrance exam.
  2. In early January, students will receive the Diocese of Cleveland Application packet for the Catholic High Schools. Families will be instructed by their Catholic grade schools about completing the packet and deadlines. See the application time line for dates.
  3. Once a student has completed the application packet and records are received by VASJ from the student’s grade school, they will be reviewed in conjunction with their entrance exam results.
  4. Students whose records meet admission criteria will be called to schedule an interview. The interview lasts about 30 minutes. At least one parent or legal guardian is required to attend the interview with the student.
  5. Letters notifying students of admissions decisions will be mailed in early February.
  6. Admitted students will register in March.
  7. Once all required information is returned to the Admissions Office and you have interviewed, the Admissions Review Committee will evaluate your file and notify you of its decision. Please note that the committee bases its decision on the information that is available to them. An incomplete file can result in denial of admission to VASJ.
  8. If you are a student at a school affiliated with the Marianist Urban Student Program (MUSP), St. Agatha-Aloysius, St. Adalbert, St. Francis, St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Jerome, click here.
