1992 state championship team, including London Fletcher, to be honored on Fri., February 8
It's a big week for Viking boys basketball. In the latest Associated Press high school basketball poll, VASJ has moved to the number one ranking in Division IV. Click here to see the complete list. The Vikings have won 11 straight games and their record is now 14-2.
On Thursday, February 7, the Vikings had a big win against Akron's St. Vincent-St. Mary, beating the Irish 86-79. If you missed the game, it will air again on Sports Time Ohio Friday, February 8, at 1 and 4 p.m.
Tonight, February 8, is another big game for the Vikings as they take on Cleveland Central Catholic. JV tips off at 6 p.m. and varsity will follow at 7:30 p.m. Before the start of the varsity game, there will be a special ceremony honoring the 1992 State Championship team. Every member from the 1992 team is expected to be present, including London Fletcher '93 from the Washington Redskins. Click here to read the News-Herald article.
Tonight's game against Cleveland Central Catholic is expected to sell out. Tickets will only be sold at the door which open at 5 p.m. for the JV game that starts at 6 p.m. Buying a ticket does not save a seat. Fans are advised to come early and stay for both the JV and varsity games. If the VASJ parking lot is full, fans are able to park in the old Christian Life Center turnaround, just west of VASJ's building.
